Details
The new Studio 140 Mk 2 follows in the footsteps of its illustrious, award winning predecessor, the classic Studio 140.
Offering significant improvements to the original's outstanding performance, this new design is effectively damped, utilising a slim front baffle to aid dispersion and rigidity. With the sonic attributes of high efficiency, refined bass power and a large soundstage, the high quality cabinet dimensions have been retained and a new 1 inch (25mm) direct radiating silk dome tweeter employed. This high frequency unit produces a sweet, smooth treble and takes pride of place at the top of the cabinet. This tweeter is seamlessly mated via a high quality crossover network, split to allow bi-wiring and bi-amping, to two new carbon filled, 6 1/2 inch (165mm) polypropylene coned midrange/bass drivers. The bass is tuned via a floor-firing port to give a crisp, extended response. High quality Response style terminals complete a speaker package that offers unparalleled musical performance at this price point. ProAc's pinpoint imaging qualities and open midrange, for which it is renowned, are the icing on the cake.
